Forum Guidelines.
General explanation
This are the guidelines for the Fighter Planes / Military Aircraft board at Ezboard. These guidelines have been put together by the Ezop, moderators, and regular members. They may change and will get updated over a period of time. Every active member of this forum is polity asked to follow these guidelines.
The moderators and Ezop
The Fighter Planes / Military Aircraft board was started by Werner Bergmans, he is the Ezop and has control over the layout of the forum and he is final person that approves steps taken against members that frequently dont follow these guidelines.
Werner Bergmans receives help from 4 moderators: Leo jr, Hoefensfill, Sammienl and Flanker30MKI. A moderator can only move posts, close threads. They cant ban members. Their tasks are to keep the discussions civil, warn members and contact Werner when things really get out of hand. Another privilege the moderators have is the possibility to close, edit or delete topics and single posts to stop things from getting out of hand. The Moderators are appointed by Ezop Werner Bergmans.
Please also remember that administrators do not specifically single out and target any member or group of people for post locking or post deletion, although a fairly strict vigil is maintained for the occasional member who consistently triggers flame wars. Ultimately administrators decide what stays on and what does not stay on.

User name policy
New forum members are kindly requested to register with a username which is not meant to offend a group of people or anyone in particular. We also request that you don't make the usernames too long. This makes the room for the real post limited.
Checklist before posting new topics
Members are requested to please check the forum for threads that already have content relating to any questions/comments they may want to post and post questions on there. This may require some lurking and reading through forum posts. Because the forum has a lot of traffic and too many topics fill up the forum too fast, unless we can all cooperate to keep threads down to a manageable level. Please remember to post the right topics in the right forum. This saves the moderators some time moving it. If you quote other sites please give the link and author of the original text, in such way that we dont get any problems with the original author. If the quoted text comes from a paper source we kindly request to inform us about the book or newspaper used.
Relevance of topics
Some topics have been discussed for many times, it is not very useful to fill up the front page of the forum with new topics that has been discussed over a thousand times. Please check earlier pages of the forum about the topic. If there are still questions about that topic you can reply in that topic, it will automatically appear on the front page. Another important guideline is that members should stick to the topic of the discussion, try not to lower the discussion to the level of USA versus Russia or something similar. Members who repeatedly lower a discussion to a certain low level will be warned.
Offensive language
Please try not to see the forum as a "use and throw" forum, we try to maintain an intellectual board. We dont need members that want to use our board to discriminate or offend people. If members try to start a flame war or write offending posts they will be warned, if this hasnt the wanted success and the members keep on going with offending posts he will get banned by the Ezop. This may take some time because we need time to let all moderators give their opinion about the dispute. And remember - opinions will vary, so don't be upset if someone disagrees with you - or if you are upset - don't reply with an angry post. There will always be someone who disagrees with your point of view. It is off course not our will that all members should hold hands and sing cumbaya, a good discussion may bring up some anger, but please try to stay to stick to the original topic and try to prove your point right with facts and logic not by offending someone.
Feedback and complaints
Please email, or start a topic about it in OTS, any comments, complaints or interesting articles and photos you would like to share or call attention to (such as unacceptable posts/flame wars) to moderators@hawaii.com
Final word
As said we try to run a decent discussion board, try to follow the guidelines as good as possible. It is not our intention to make fighter planes a static discussion board but if sensation and flame wars is all you seek, search for it in another place. A high quality post can be far more informing than 100 flame wars. Have fun on the forum and if there are any remarks please drop a note, we are open to all ideas.
Have fun!!!
