The worry about FIM-92 Stingers is unwarranted. Stingers were provided to teh Muj in 1985-1986. That makes them 21+ years old. The missile has a shelf life of 10 years and the battery a shelf life of 5 years. Both are long since expired making Stingers useless. What NATO aircraft need to be wary of is brand new Russian Igla-S and Chinese Qian-Wei II MANPADS supplied by the Iranians.
