Tanks are OBSOLETE. I mean just look at how a militia(not even a military) made mincemeat out of tons of the Merkavas in the 2006 war.
Even back during the Yom Kippur War, tanks were starting to become obsolete on the Egyptian front in the first few days.
It was only after Sadat fired his top Generals for basically DOING TOO GOOD A JOB of beating Israel that Israel tanks became useful again.
Tanks are useful against an enemy that has tanks(like Saddam), and they're pretty useless against asymetrical warfare.
I think some parts of naval power will become pretty obsolete in the future as well. I think the war against Iran will have some shocking results for small to medium sized naval vessels ships start getting hit by supersonic sunburn antiship cruse missiles. Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles, and Anti-Tank missiles are 2 weapons that don't really level the playing field, but still do make a huge difference. Look at what just a couple of exocets could do to the British Royal Navy, and now imagine a million time more advanced Sunburns or Yahonts.
If the Israelis are smart, they won't use any surface ships in the attack, only planes and subs. I think their surface ships will fare even worse than the Merkavas did.
