Indeed.

What I don't understand is why Bush had to open another front in Iraq.

The strategy should have been to clear out Afghanistan/Pakistan together in one fell swoop.

I expect Obama will just continue to make a hash....in fact I dont see any american leader soon having the real guts to call a spade a spade and go after the real bad guys.

And you know who's going to pay for it? The innocents.

The drone warfare is not going to be anywhere near enough. The US of A needs to get its act together and really go all out here....I'm telling you if an american leader has the guts to go after Pakistan in a serious way...you will defintely have a positive response from India.

Instead we have a situation where the focus is all afghanistan...and lip service to the pak bad guys. Its gotten so bad that an american general (McCrystal or whoever) actually said recently that India's "influence" (export of culture, increased diplomacy and lots of construction of roads and schools and other aid) in Afghanistan could be counterproductive because it makes Pakistan feel more threatened. I mean seriously?

The current strategy is deeply flawed. Tactics are all there.....the US forces are still the best major world power in what they do....but its useless without the vision and balls to get to that vision.
