Hell, aircraft are a lot more intresting than politics anyway.

I recall very well the sounds of the phantom. I even got to see an airshow back when the Blue Angles were flying them. They dropped them and went back to the Skyhawk after a short time with them. I got to see Phantoms in Germany too, along with Luftwaffe F104 Starfighters. That dates me I realize, but everybody knows I'm an old guy by now anyway. For some reason the F104's sounded very different from the Phantom, despite both having J79's. I'd guess it was the different intakes more so than the different variants of J79, as they were really different.

The aircraft with the highest shrieking noise though remains the C5A/C5B Galaxy. Very annoying.

Anybody heard the wave files from the Lightning 2's F135 yet? Man that's loud! If you haven't, let me know and I'll put up links to some you tube stuff of it taking off. If your computer has a decent sound system with subwoofers like mine you can use it to wake up the neighbors.

I used to do that with my train simulators after the neighbors had an obnoxious late party. I can make a 4400 HP GE deisel Electric sound like it's in the room. I love them as I used to work on the railroad long, long ago.
