The most I've seen here in Singapore are the F-16s zooming overhead.

Good thing is that they happen quite frequently (Singapore being a city state and all surrounded by not so friendly countries).

They make quite a distinctive sound....however as one can imagine they are not allowed to go supersonic over the city.

I used to also see the skyhawks every now and again before they were retired.

What was really cool to see was the touch and go exercises that the RSAF conducted on national highways with its fighters...several years ago..

They closed off a section of highway and landed and launched falcons, skyhawks off it. I was pretty close to it...it was amazing to see. It was pretty much a once or twice in a lifetime thing....as the RSAF have never done it before (that ive heard of)...and never since.

Now with the recent acquisition of the F-15 SG (uber E variant).....I am looking forward to when they finally arrive in Singapore....I think they are still in the USA with their crews undergoing warm ups and training etc....

But seeing the timing, I might be in Canada when they finally do arrive....shucks.

That would be something to hear as well....though I don't think I will get the same level of sound/experience as you did Joe, seeing how the pilots have to follow regulation city rules when they are having fun with their birds
