Well if you agree with the article's logic, you'l have to admit that France has no domestic nuclear reactor design ability since their original reactors were designed with British assistance.

The article's main argument, that Britain does not know how to produce a thermonuclear bomb without American help is flawed. Britain may rely on American assistance and information regarding nuclear warheads but the warheads are still built in Britain and should America ever withdraw its support, Britain still has the knowledge (and resources) at Aldermaston to design a domestic warhead as it did following the McMahon act.

The only information that Britain recieved from America that aided in thermonuclear weapon design was fallout sampling, something that France did as well.

The article also fails to make a proper distinction between warhead design and delivery system. At no point in the report does he state how the US could prevent the launch of a Trident missile from a UK submarine.
